What Hardware Does InBloom Work With?
You can use InBloom with a Mac or PC, laptop or tower. In addition, you can use InBloom with just about any printer that your computer can connect to. InBloom can be configured for three separate kinds of printers:
A price tag/label printerFor printing price tags & labels on Macs, we recommend Dymo Label printers or Zebra thermal tag printers. Dymo printers generate labels that can be stuck to any particular kind of price tag. These are great for affixing your label to any non-standard objects, such as bottles, and for attaching to customized hangtags.- A receipt printer
For printing receipts we recommend using a Star Micro TSP-model thermal receipt printer that generates standard and inexpensive thermal receipts. You can also use a standard document printer to print receipts on 8.5″ x 11″ paper. - And a document printerFor document printing, any standard laser or inkjet printer can work.
To integrate a cash drawer you must have InBloom connected to a Star Micro thermal receipt printer, as it is the printer that issues the command to open the cash drawer.

Barcode scanners are supported on both Mac & Windows versions of InBloom. InBloom currently uses free Code 39 barcode fonts to generate barcode price tags.

How Does InBloom Work?
There are two versions of InBloom: Lite and Pro. InBloom Lite gives you every feature except the ability to network between multiple computers and the ability to customize layout and fonts on reports. InBloom Pro requires FileMaker Pro (a second application) and gives you every feature including networking and customizable reports.
If you have only one computer, then InBloom Lite is the way to go. Otherwise, you’ll need the multiple user InBloom license and a copy of FileMaker Pro for each computer you will be networking. When your business grows and it becomes time to network multiple computers, there is NO UPGRADE FEE for InBloom Lite to Pro. Simply start using your InBloom Lite files with FileMaker Pro and you’ll instantly have access to the customization and networking features.
